CISTERNS IN DHARAVI
Architecture vs. Disaster The design strategy for the project given the limitations of sanitation and the seasonal monsoons was primarily developed around water and the management of it. A zero waste system that allows for the water collection, storage and distribution resulted in the design of a multifunctional rainwater cistern with a dry toilet base in the Indian slum, Dharavi.
